Middle School Counseling: Welcome Families!
Our School Counseling Vision in Conejo Valley is:
As school counselors, we deliver a comprehensive school counseling program designed to promote student growth across three key domains: academic, career, and social/emotional development. Within this program, school counselors implement intentional strategies and activities that support all students’ academic development by fostering the mindsets and behaviors essential for effective learning. We recognize that balanced growth across all three domains is critical for students to thrive both now and in the future.
Our vision is for every student to develop the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary for a successful transition to high school and beyond. This vision serves as the lens through which we continuously design, implement, and refine our comprehensive school counseling program.

Our Middle School Counselor: Mrs. Vitto

I am here to partner with you on the Middle School Journey! I have been with Conejo Valley Unified School District for over 25 years and have raised two incredible twin boys with my husband. I understand all ages, am quick on email, and no question is ever a burden. Middle school is a time of incredible transformation. At Sycamore Canyon, our School Counseling Department is here to ensure that every student feels supported, seen, and empowered to succeed. Think of me as your "navigator" for the middle school years—working at the intersection of academics, future planning, and emotional well-being.
Supporting Our Students
Students are supported through a "Tiered" approach with the following resources provided and available to promote well-being and overall success inside and outside of the classroom:
In the Classroom
(Tier 1)
(Tier 1)
We visit classrooms to teach essential life skills. From Time Management and Goal Setting to navigating Peer Relationships, Career Exploration, possible Dual Enrollment with our community colleges to Learning What Options are Available in Trade Schools, Career Technical Education Pathways, and College and University, I provide the tools all students need to thrive.
Small Groups
(Tier 2)
(Tier 2)
Sometimes students benefit from a little extra support. We host small groups for "new-to-school" students, organizational help, or social-emotional growth.
Individual Growth
(Tier 2)
(Tier 2)
I am active with the students at Sycamore. They will see me every day. Along the way, I will find moments to help grow students confidence both academically and socially. I am a great resource for students who are struggling and also for students who want to find ways to challenge themselves.
Individual Support
(Tier 3)
(Tier 3)
For students facing more complex challenges, I provide one-on-one check-ins and coordinate with specialized supports to ensure no one falls through the cracks.
